Cosmote was the fastest mobile provider in Greece during 2H 2024, across all technologies combined, and also specifically for 5G. It recorded a median 5G download speed of 199.37 Mbps, and an upload speed of 18.83 Mbps.
Cosmote offered the best quality of experience
Cosmote offered the best 5G gaming and video streaming experiences in Greece during 2H 2024, according to Speedtest Intelligence data, as well as the best gaming experience among ISPs.
Pireas the top performing city in Greece
Pireas recorded the fastest median mobile and fixed download speeds among the most populous cities in Greece. Its median mobile download speed was 115.94 Mbps, and it recorded a median fixed download speed of 74.22 Mbps.

Fastest Mobile Network
Cosmote was the fastest mobile provider in Greece during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data for all technologies combined, with a Speed Score of 152.69. Cosmote led on median download speed, recording 109.68 Mbps, ahead of next placed Vodafone, which recorded 58.03 Mbps, and Nova with 52.72 Mbps. Cosmote also led the market on median upload speed, with 14.67 Mbps, and a latency of 42 ms.

Fastest 5G Network
Cosmote was the fastest 5G provider in Greece during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data, with a Speed Score of 182.9. Cosmote led on median 5G download speed, recording 199.37 Mbps, ahead of next placed Vodafone, which recorded 92.91 Mbps, and Nova with 86.63 Mbps. Cosmote also led the market on median 5G upload speed, with 18.83 Mbps, and a latency over 5G of 41 ms.

Best 5G Availability
Cosmote recorded the highest 5G Availability in Greece during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data, with 76.8% of its users accessing its 5G network a majority of the time.

Pireas had the fastest median mobile download speed among Greece’s most populous cities, based on data for all providers combined, recording 115.94 Mbps. Thessaloniki was second, followed by Athens in third. At the other end of the scale, Volos had the slowest median mobile download speed at 77.99 Mbps, followed by Patras and Heraklion. Cosmote was the fastest provider across all seven cities.

Pireas had the fastest median fixed download speed among Greece’s most populous cities, based on results for all providers combined, recording 74.22 Mbps. Larissa was second, followed by Thessaloniki in third. At the other end of the scale, Heraklion had the slowest median fixed download speed at 45.22 Mbps, followed by Volos and Patras.
Inalan was the fastest ISP in Greece’s two most populous cities, Athens and Thessaloniki. Inalan recorded a median download speed of 225.31 Mbps in Athens, and 224.59 Mbps in Thessaloniki. Cosmote, Nova and Vodafone were fastest in Pireas, Heraklion, and Volos respectively.
