Iliad the fastest fixed ISP in Italy
Iliad was the fastest ISP in Italy during 2H 2024 with a median download speed of 334.66 Mbps, and a median upload speed of 246.34 Mbps.
Bari and Genoa were the top performing cities in Italy
Among the most populous cities in Italy, Bari recorded the fastest median mobile download speed of 123.07 Mbps, while Genoa outpaced the other cities to record the fastest median fixed download speed, with 266.88 Mbps.

Fastest Mobile Network
Fastweb was the fastest mobile provider in Italy during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data for all technologies combined, with a Speed Score of 102.03. Fastweb led on median download speed, recording 74.75 Mbps, ahead of next placed WINDTRE, which recorded 67.11 Mbps, and Vodafone with 59.33 Mbps. Fastweb recorded a median upload speed of 11.06 Mbps, and a latency of 57 ms.

Fastest 5G Network
Vodafone was the fastest 5G provider in Italy during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data, with a Speed Score of 210.82. Vodafone led on median 5G download speed, recording 252.43 Mbps, ahead of next placed WINDTRE, which recorded 137.60 Mbps, and Fastweb with 133.50 Mbps. Vodafone also led the market on median 5G upload speed, with 17.78 Mbps, and a latency over 5G of 45 ms.

Most Consistent Network
There was no winner of best mobile network Consistency in Italy during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data, with no statistical difference between the mobile providers. Vodafone had the best 5G Consistency in the market, with 81.8% of samples meeting or exceeding the threshold of 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload.

Gaming Experience
Vodafone recorded the best mobile gaming experience in Italy, with a Game Score of 84.09. Vodafone provided the best 5G gaming experience in the market, with a 5G Game Score of 87.34.

Bari had the fastest median mobile download speed among Italy’s most populous cities, recording 123.07 Mbps. Bologna was second, followed by Milan in third. At the other end of the scale, Florence had the slowest median mobile download speed at 61.68 Mbps, followed by Genoa and Catania.

Genoa had the fastest median fixed download speed among Italy’s most populous cities, recording 266.88 Mbps. Milan was second, followed by Palermo in third. At the other end of the scale, Florence had the slowest median fixed download speed at 86.14 Mbps, followed by Bari and Rome. Iliad was the fastest provider across eight cities.
