Antel led the mobile market across key performance metrics
Antel was the fastest mobile provider in Uruguay during 2H 2024, across all technologies combined. It recorded a median download speed of 172.21 Mbps, and an upload speed of 15.9 Mbps.
Montevideo Department and San José were the top performing regions in Uruguay
Among the regions of Uruguay, Montevideo Department recorded the fastest median mobile download speed of 148.28 Mbps, while San José outpaced the other regions to record the fastest median fixed download speed, with 174.71 Mbps.
Claro and Antel offered the best video and gaming mobile experiences
Claro offered the best mobile video streaming experience in Uruguay during 2H 2024, while Antel recorded the best mobile gaming experience, according to Speedtest Intelligence data.

Montevideo Department had the fastest median mobile download speed among Uruguay’s regions, recording 148.28 Mbps. Maldonado was second, followed by Colonia in third. At the other end of the scale, Flores had the slowest median mobile download speed at 36.14 Mbps, followed by San José and Cerro Largo. Antel was the fastest provider across three regions.
